Purchasing a home is one of the largest financial decisions you will ever make, so you want to get good advice. One of the first things you want to do is review your budget with a mortgage consultant to see what you can afford. Don’t settle for a simple pre-qualification because sellers and Realtors will not take your offer seriously. To get your offer accepted you want to make sure you have gone through a full under-writing process pending the selection and appraisal of a property.
Once you are pre-approved, you want to work with a local real estate specialist to help select and negotiate a property. Make sure to pick a Realtor who knows the area, knows your goals, and carefully listens to your needs. Then you can start making offers! Once you get an offer accepted, the property will be appraised and the loan process will be finalized. You could be weeks away from owning your own home!
